We'd love to hear from you. We are now seeking an internal medicine specialist for a hospital in Iceland. You must speak Icelandic. If you have a subspecialty within internal medicine, you are also welcome to apply, but the position covers general internal medicine. There is also an opportunity to become a co-owner. The assignment is flexible and can be adapted to your preferences. You can work for a year or longer, take a 4–5 month assignment, or work according to a rotation schedule, for example two months on and two months off. Responsibilities Investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with a broad spectrum of internal medicine conditions Follow-up of patients on wards, in outpatient clinics, and in emergency departments as needed Interdisciplinary collaboration with other specialist physicians to ensure the best possible patient care Contribute to operational development, quality improvement, and mentoring of junior physicians We Offer Competitive terms and conditions Favorable tax conditions Opportunity for co-ownership Travel, accommodation, and car included Flexible assignment periods adapted to your preferences International experience from a Nordic healthcare system An inclusive work environment with good working conditions We Are Looking for You You are an internal medicine specialist with a license and specialist competency from the EU/EEA You speak and understand both Icelandic and English You are dedicated to your profession and enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration You are seeking new professional challenges and international experience Working in Iceland The transition to working in Iceland is often smooth for Scandinavian physicians, as the healthcare system is based on many of the same values and approaches as in other Nordic countries. The working language is English, so you need to master the language well, both verbally and in writing. Working in Iceland also gives you the opportunity to gain experience from another Nordic healthcare system and see how healthcare is organized in a new environment.
