We are currently seeking an interim manager at SMHI in Gothenburg. Employment Form: Fixed-term Scope: Full-time (100%) Location: Gothenburg, business travel may occur. Start: 2026-11-01 End Date: 2027-12-31 About the Assignment The assignment involves leading the Oceanographic Measurement Technology group at the agency. The group consists of nine employees with expertise in technology, oceanography, and marine sciences and is responsible for operation, management, and maintenance of oceanographic measurement systems. As interim manager, you will have operational, personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility for an operation with an annual budget of approximately 18–19 MSEK. You are responsible for ensuring continuity, delivery capacity, a good work environment, and financial compliance, as well as developing working methods and collaboration. The role also includes participation in the management group for the Observations unit and close collaboration with other agencies and organizations. For this role, we are seeking someone who is a confident and experienced leader with documented experience in personnel, operational, and budget management, preferably from a technical, complex, or socially important operation. You are experienced in leading specialized expertise, creating structure, and quickly familiarizing yourself with new organizations and operations. As a person, you are communicative, unpretentious, and relationship-building, with the ability to make decisions and drive work forward even in changing environments.
