On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking an experienced and confident interim chief for a qualified assignment at a major organization in the real estate and housing sector in Stockholm. The assignment is full-time and is expected to start 2026-10-02 and run until 2027-03-01, with the possibility of a 6-month extension. About the assignment As interim chief, you are responsible for leading, planning, and following up on the unit's operations during a transition period. The focus is on ensuring continuity and progress while driving forward an ongoing change and development initiative. You lead the unit's direct reporting managers and create clarity around responsibility, priorities, and working methods. The role also includes overall responsibility for the project portfolio with a focus on economy, time, quality, risks, and goal achievement. Your main areas of responsibility include: Leading and coaching direct reporting managers Ensuring stability and progress in ongoing projects and operations Managing and monitoring the project portfolio regarding time, economy, quality, and risk Following up on budget, results, investment volume, and financial variances Driving change and development work and implementing new working methods Handling operational, personnel, and work environment matters within your assigned mandate Developing collaboration with internal functions and external parties When needed, representing the client in major construction and renovation projects Reporting significant risks, variances, and decision points to your superior Preparing a structured handover to the incoming permanent chief The operation's project portfolio includes an investment volume of approximately 1 billion SEK, which places high demands on both business acumen and financial management. About you We are seeking someone who meets the following mandatory requirements: Master's degree in civil engineering in construction, or equivalent education and experience At least 10 years of experience in house construction, of which at least 5 years of experience in residential renovation Experience leading a construction, real estate, or project-intensive operation Experience managing managers Experience with budget and profit responsibility and financial monitoring of a larger project portfolio Experience with various contracting and procurement methods Experience representing clients or acting as agent in major construction or renovation projects Experience in change management and implementing new working methods in complex organizations Very good Swedish in speech and writing Ability to begin the assignment at the time and scope specified in the call-off request It is meritorious if you also meet the following requirements: Previous assignment as interim chief in a comparable operation Municipal housing companies, public operations, or other politically controlled organizations Renovation projects in occupied properties Operations covered by LOU Experience in quickly stabilizing an operation and subsequently conducting a structured management handover Desired personal qualities: You are a confident and clear leader who can quickly familiarize yourself with a complex operation and build trust with both managers and employees. To succeed in this assignment, you need to be action-oriented, analytical, and solution-focused, with the ability to prioritize and make decisions even when circumstances change. You have high integrity and very good communication skills. You are also skilled at creating functional collaboration with both internal functions and tenants, contractors, consultants, and other external parties.
