Right now we are looking for an Interim Operations Manager at the Sports and Community Association Administration at Gothenburg City through StudentConsulting! The Administration's vision is to make Gothenburg healthier, which the Administration's approximately 400 employees do by providing support to associations, operating swimming pools, sports facilities, gyms and exercise facilities. We rent out sports facilities and community spaces, we build new and develop existing facilities, plan and develop sports areas and we encourage movement and fitness through campaigns and various activities.
The Sports and Community Association Administration's operations are organized under different departments, the largest of which is the Facilities Department, which in turn is divided into three operational areas: Department Support, Swimming and Fitness, and Halls, Isar, and Sports Halls, plus the Operations and Technology unit. The Facilities Department's main task is to operate and develop activities at the Administration's facilities throughout the city. In your role as Operations Manager, you will be part of the operational area Halls, Isar, and Sports Halls.
About the role:
As Operations Manager, you report to the Department Manager for the Facilities Department and are part of the department's management group. You have overall responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel within your operational area. In the role, you lead and manage seven unit managers and are responsible for administrative support functions within the operational areas for halls, isar, and sports halls. You create conditions for well-functioning operations by leading, coordinating, and developing both employees and operations toward established goals.
Further, your work tasks will include:
Lead and develop operations with a clear customer, holistic, and future focus.
Work closely with unit managers, the department's management group, and its support functions to create well-functioning and cohesive operations.
Clarify the operational goals, guidelines, priorities, and working methods, and create conditions for managers and employees to achieve established goals.
Take responsibility for monitoring and analyzing operations and contribute to placing the operational area's work in a broader context together with the department's management group.
Take responsibility for external contacts and collaboration with various partners and associations.
This is a consulting assignment where you will be employed by StudentConsulting and work as a consultant at Gothenburg City. The position is full-time and is planned to start 2026-11-01 and run until 2027-02-28, with the possibility of extension.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for you who have:
University degree in economics, social sciences, or equivalent deemed to be equivalent
Several years of experience managing through managers with good results
At least 5 years of experience as a manager with budget and personnel responsibility in a public sector operation
Experience with management by objectives and change management and having completed change work
Good Swedish in speech and writing
