About the role and examples of responsibilities
As interim Operations Manager Planner, Ice and Sports Halls, you will become part of the City of Gothenburg's Sports and Community Administration and report to the Department Manager for Facilities. You will be part of the department's management team and have overall responsibility for operations, finance, and personnel within the area of responsibility.
You will lead the operation through seven unit managers and work closely with both the management team and support functions to ensure that the operation's goals are achieved. The role involves leading, developing, and following up on the operation with a focus on quality, efficiency, and long-term development.
The responsibilities include, among other things:
Lead and develop the operation through subordinate managers.
Responsibility for operational planning, budget, and personnel matters.
Ensure that the operation's goals, priorities, and working methods are clear and well-anchored.
Drive and implement change and development work.
Follow up on the operation's results and conduct analyses and create decision-making documents.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, partners, and associations.
Contribute to strategic work within the department's management team.
Your background, experience, and qualifications
University degree in economics, social sciences, or other education deemed equivalent.
At least five years of experience as a manager with budget and personnel responsibility in public operations.
Several years of experience leading through managers with good results.
Experience with goal management, change leadership, and successfully implementing change initiatives.
Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish orally and in writing.

Good to know
This is a full-time consulting assignment at the City of Gothenburg's Sports and Community Administration. The assignment covers the period November 1, 2026 to February 28, 2027, and most of the work is performed on-site at the client's location. The assignment may be extended.
