We are currently seeking an Interim Director of Administration for Social Services at Ale Municipality through StudentConsulting. As Director of Administration, you will be responsible for the social services operations, which include individual and family care, elderly care, support services for people with disabilities, and municipal health and medical services. You have overall responsibility for leading and developing the social services on behalf of the Social Services Board and are also part of the Municipal Director's management team, where you contribute to the municipality's overall development. The position encompasses approximately 850 employees, and you have direct employer responsibility for five operations managers. As an interim director, you are expected to take a curious and development-oriented perspective on the organization. You identify opportunities for improvement and development, while creating favorable conditions for a structured and sustainable handover to the next Director of Administration. In this role, you have a central function in ensuring well-functioning social services with residents' needs in focus. You are responsible for operations, finances, and HR matters, and work closely with the Social Services Board, the Municipal Director, and other Directors of Administration. Tasks and Areas of Responsibility: Lead and develop social services operations based on the municipality's goals and residents' needs. Responsible for operations, finances, and HR matters. This is a consulting assignment, which means you will be employed by StudentConsulting and work as a consultant at Ale Municipality. The position is full-time and is planned to run for 6-8 months, with the possibility of extension. The application deadline is August 31. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are seeking you with: An academic degree, at minimum bachelor's level, in an area relevant to the field of operations. A background in law, digital organizational development, or management and governance is meritorious. Multiple years of experience as a manager of managers in a politically governed organization. Documented experience leading managers and driving organizational development with concrete results in areas such as work environment, employee engagement, sick leave, or staff turnover. Good knowledge of relevant legislation and experience with systematic workplace health and safety work, rehabilitation, workforce planning, change management, and union collaboration. Meritorious experience working within social services' authority-exercising activities, either in an operational role or as a first-line manager. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working with others. You are service-minded, clear, and quality-conscious in your work, while also having a good overview and the ability to see how different parts connect.
