We are currently recruiting at Jurek for an experienced interim unit manager within library operations for a consulting assignment with Ale municipality. The assignment involves leading and developing library operations during a transition period in connection with recruiting a new permanent manager. About the role and examples of responsibilities As interim unit manager for Ale municipality's library operations, you are responsible for leading the municipality's four libraries in Surte, Nödinge, Älvängen and Skepplanda. The assignment is operational and requires high presence in the activities. The libraries are staffed by eleven librarians with high expertise and strong commitment to the literacy promotion mission. In the role, you are responsible for creating structure, clarity and good conditions for operations while actively working with team development and work environment issues. Examples of responsibilities: Lead and coordinate daily library operations at the municipality's four libraries. Responsible for scheduling and staffing planning. Ensure clear procedures, approaches and structure in operations. Work in a relationship-strengthening and developmental manner with the work team. Handle and resolve conflicts and drive work environment issues as needed. Redistribute tasks based on operational needs and priorities. Participate in the department's management team and handle associated administrative tasks. Represent the municipality in networks and collaboration forums for library managers. Your background, experience and expertise Experience with management and personnel responsibility. Experience leading operations in change or development. Good experience with work environment efforts and personnel-related issues. Ability to express yourself well in Swedish in speech and writing. Meritorious: Experience with operational and personnel responsibility within library operations or other cultural activities. Experience from management roles in politically governed organizations. Experience handling group dynamics challenges and conflict management. To succeed in the assignment, you are a stable and confident leader who builds trust through clarity and presence. You are action-oriented, structured and have the ability to make decisions even in challenging situations. Furthermore, you are receptive, relationship-building and have good expertise in conflict management and team development. Good to know You will be employed as a consultant at Jurek for a full-time assignment with Ale municipality. The assignment is expected to start October 5, 2026 or by agreement and will run for approximately four months.
