We are looking for an experienced and confident interim Chief Financial Officer/CFO for a knowledge-intensive organization in Stockholm. You will have a central role in the operations and become an important strategic advisor to the CEO and other management, while leading and developing the finance function. The assignment combines strategic financial responsibility, operational management, and change leadership. The focus is both on ensuring a stable finance function here and now and on developing working methods, roles, responsibilities, and processes for the future. About the assignment As interim CFO, you are responsible for the finance department and have personnel responsibility for the team. You ensure continuity in ongoing operations while driving change and development work within the finance function. In this role, you will, among other things: Lead the finance department with personnel responsibility and create structure, clarity, and continuity. Manage budget, forecast, accounting, financial statements, reporting, and financial monitoring. Ensure good internal controls and provide qualified financial decision support. Be an active part of the organization's management team and contribute an economic and operational perspective to strategic issues. Act as an advisor to the CEO, management team, and operational managers. Lead and implement change initiatives within the finance department, including those related to organization, roles, responsibilities, processes, and working methods. Create engagement and involvement among employees in the change work. Develop governance models, KPIs, finance processes, decision-support tools, and digital working methods. Ensure structured handover and documentation as the assignment concludes. You are expected to switch between strategic level and operational execution. Coaching and trust-based leadership is important, as is the ability to create clarity, engagement, and momentum even during change. To succeed in this role, you need to be an engaged, results-oriented, communicative, and authentic leader. You are confident leading others, build trust and clarity, and bring the organization along in change. We are looking for you who Hold an academic degree in economics of at least 180 hp, or equivalent education. Have at least 5 years of experience as a CFO, Finance Manager, Finance Director, or equivalent, with overall responsibility for budget, forecast, accounting, and financial monitoring. Have at least 3 years of experience working in executive management, management team, or equivalent strategic forum. Have at least 3 years of experience as a manager with personnel responsibility for at least 5 employees. Have led and implemented at least one major change initiative within finance or operational management, where at least two of the following areas changed: organization, roles, responsibilities, decision processes, or working methods. Have at least 5 years of experience in qualified work within accounting and financial management, including budget, forecast, monitoring, reporting, and internal controls. Have held overall responsibility for annual reports, financial statements, and external financial reporting, as well as compliance with relevant tax, accounting, and financial regulations. It is an advantage if you have Experience driving change by creating engagement, involvement, and managing resistance. Experience developing governance models, KPI structures, operational monitoring, or decision-support tools for the CEO, management team, or board. At least 3 years of experience from the public sector, municipal company, region, state authority, or other politically governed organization. Experience from a knowledge-intensive service organization, such as IT, digitalization, consulting, or other specialist services. Experience with long-term financial plans, scenario analyses, and strategic financial decision support. Experience with financial management and monitoring of business, service, investment, or project portfolios. Experience with pricing, price models, and profitability calculations.
