The security policy situation in our region and in the wider world has changed, and the government has therefore decided that military capability should be strengthened. The importance of northern Sweden and the Nordic region has increased, and winter capability and winter training within the Swedish Armed Forces and among our partner countries has therefore increased. The Swedish Armed Forces Winter Unit (FMVE) is part of I 19 and has the main task of developing and coordinating winter and subarctic capability within the entire Swedish Armed Forces. We are looking for you who wants to be part of developing subarctic capability. We will offer you opportunities to develop with exciting tasks in different locations. As an officer at the training department, your main task is to train our students at national and international courses. About us FM Winter Unit contributes to the Swedish Armed Forces' operational units being able to operate in all climate zones and especially in winter environments. The unit is based in Boden and is organized under Norrbotten Regiment I 19. The training department conducts courses throughout the year. Main responsibilities First and foremost, your work involves serving as course leader/instructor at the unit's national and international courses, which means you train in both Swedish and English. You will participate in joint defense projects, serve as an instructor in training activities, and provide expertise support for your own and allied units. Furthermore, you will lead/participate in projects in the subarctic climate, participate in the Swedish Armed Forces' security inspections regarding cold weather, and perform other relevant work tasks. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Professional officer, OR6/7 with at least 5 years of professional experience. Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, in both Swedish and English Driver's license category B minimum Personal qualities You are an individual with high integrity, good social skills and welcome diversity. You have a strong sense of responsibility, which means you can work independently but have no problem collaborating with others both within and outside the section. You must be able to implement and evaluate the results of completed work and assignments within the organization. You have high security awareness in your work, handle your tasks with good overall perspective and make decisions in line with your superior's will. You are meticulous and have a structured way of working and the ability to change pace when required. You have a positive attitude toward physical training as this is part of the work tasks in the Swedish Armed Forces. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. MERITORIOUS QUALIFICATIONS Military driving license/driving license for tracked vehicle, armored personnel carrier, heavy truck with trailer and wheel loader Excellent ability to lead platoon-level troop training Good personal skills (weapons, physical performance, FUSA/SUSA - unit training/live fire combat training). Mountain and/or emergency medical care instructor. Experience working in and independently managing projects Previous service at schools/centers within the Swedish Armed Forces Language skills beyond English and Swedish Good experience working in a subarctic climate Good administrative ability in the Swedish Armed Forces' support systems Other information Employment type: The position is a permanent employment, we apply a six-month probationary period for those not currently employed by the agency. I 19 is one of Sweden's largest regiments. The regiment's headquarters and command are located in Boden. The regiment's most important task is to build combat units and over the next few years, I 19 will gradually develop the new Norrbotten Brigade. By 2028, the regiment should be able to train, equip and mobilize the entire brigade including the associated functional units. The brigade should be able to conduct operations in all environments but be specialized for combat in the subarctic environment on the Nordic region. Conscript training is conducted at Norrbotten Armored Battalion, which is responsible for training and maintaining units for the Norrbotten Brigade. The regiment otherwise consists of the regiment's staff, Armed Forces Health Services, Garrison Support Unit, Logistics Unit and Local Planning Unit.
