The school offers programs in construction and civil engineering, economics, electrical and energy, agricultural studies (with specializations in animal care, horse husbandry, and agriculture), natural sciences, social sciences, and four introductory programs. The school also offers adapted upper secondary national programs in forestry, land and animals, and property, construction and building. The school additionally offers national sports education (NIU) in equestrian sports and bandy, as well as local sports education (LIU) in various sports. The school has a student residence with over 130 beds, and food production as part of the agricultural education program. Parts of the production are served at the municipal kitchen. Welcome to Stiernhööksgymnasiet! Job Description As an instructor in school agriculture at Stiernhööksgymnasiet, you are part of a team in the agricultural education program. This position includes all work tasks on the school farm. Plant cultivation (hay, grain, and potatoes) is an important part of the work, but also operating and working with contractor machinery (excavators and loaders). The farm is a productive KRAV-certified operation run to be an excellent learning environment for agricultural education while simultaneously producing raw materials for the municipal kitchen. Farm work is carried out to a large extent by students with assistance from teachers and instructors. As an instructor, you work in close collaboration with the school's pedagogical staff to provide practical grounding for the teaching. Together you make the farm an educational learning tool. Qualifications As a candidate for the instructor position in school agriculture, you should have upper secondary education in agriculture or equivalent experience. You ideally have worked with young people and have a calm and pedagogical approach to letting them learn your trade. You should have experience with plant cultivation and use of agricultural machinery. We appreciate knowledge of and interest in technical equipment and modern farm technology. A professional certificate for contractor machinery is a merit. You are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. As a person, you take initiative, have an aptitude for solving problems when they arise, and have a good ability to collaborate and organize in a flexible work environment. You also bring energy to a dynamic team. To thrive best in the role of instructor, we believe you are curious about meeting young people and want to try new things within your profession.
