State Police Riga Regional Department Eastern Pierīga District Investigation Department Inspector (Investigation) Profession code – 335513 Main duties of the position: Initiate criminal proceedings and conduct investigations in accordance with regulatory acts to detect criminal offenses committed in the District's service area; Conduct pre-trial investigations, make decisions on the conduct and direction of investigations; Prepare pre-trial investigation plans for criminal proceedings under case management and supplement them during the investigation; Within the scope of competence, consider complaints, applications and submissions, make decisions in the manner and timeframe specified in regulatory acts; Maintain records of criminal proceedings under case management, carefully and qualitatively, in accordance with case management and Criminal Procedure Law requirements, prepare criminal procedural documents, record physical evidence, seized property and confiscated items, handle them in accordance with regulatory requirements, and timely place them in storage. Requirements for candidates: Compliance with the requirements specified in Articles 4 and 7 of the Service Career Law of officials with special service ranks in institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Penitentiary Administration; First-level professional higher education (educational thematic areas: law, civil and military defense, commerce and administration, social and human sciences, computer science); Good computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel); State language proficiency level – C1; Category B driver's license. Candidates who have not previously served in institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or the Penitentiary Administration will be required to complete a 3-month professional development education program "Basics of Police Work for State Police Officials" at the State Police College.
