State Police Riga Regional Administration Riga Northern Administration Criminal Police Bureau Inspector (Investigation) Profession code – 335513 Key job duties: Initiate criminal proceedings and conduct investigations in accordance with regulatory acts to detect criminal offenses committed in the precinct's service area; Conduct pre-trial investigations, make decisions on investigation procedures and direction; Prepare pre-trial investigation plans for criminal proceedings in file, supplement them during the investigation; Within the scope of competence, review complaints, applications and submissions, make decisions in the manner and time limit established by regulatory acts; Maintain records of criminal proceedings in file, carefully and qualitatively prepare criminal procedural documents in accordance with filing and Criminal Procedure Law requirements, record material evidence, seized property and confiscated items, handle them in accordance with regulatory requirements, timely transfer them for storage. Requirements for candidates: Compliance with requirements set out in Articles 4 and 7 of the Service Career Law for officials with special service ranks in the Ministry of Interior system institutions and Penitentiary Administration; First-level professional higher education (education thematic fields: legal science, civil and military defense, business and administration, social and human sciences, computer science); Good skills in working with computer technology (MS Word and MS Excel); State language proficiency level – C level grade 1; Category B driver's license. Candidates who have not previously served in Ministry of Interior system institutions or the Penitentiary Administration will be required to complete a 3-month professional development education program at the State Police College titled "Fundamentals of Police Work for State Police Officials".
