State Police Riga Regional Office South Pierīga District Investigation Department Inspector Profession Code – 335513 Main Job Duties: - Plan and implement necessary measures within your competence to prevent and detect criminal offenses in the assigned territory; - Perform operational tasks related to detecting criminal offenses under the District's jurisdiction as prescribed by regulations; - Search for criminals and missing persons within your competence; - Systematically collect and analyze received operational information; - Identify and conduct operational measures in crime-prone areas to prevent further criminal offenses. Requirements for Candidates: - Compliance with the requirements set out in Articles 4 and 7 of the Law on Service Career of Officials with Special Service Ranks in the Interior Ministry System Institutions and Prison Administration; - First level professional higher education (educational fields: law, civil and military protection, business and administration, social and human sciences, computer science); - Good computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel); - State language proficiency level – C1; - Category B driver's license. Candidates who have not previously served in Interior Ministry System institutions or Prison Administration must complete a 3-month professional development program "Police Work Basics for State Police Officials" at the State Police College.
