The State Labor Inspectorate announces a competition for an inspector civil service position at the Jēkabpils office of the Latgale Regional STATE LABOR INSPECTORATE (one position; indefinite term; workplace – Brīvības iela 258A, Jēkabpils) The State Labor Inspectorate offers: a friendly team; interesting and dynamic work; the opportunity to contribute to ensuring compliance in the field of labor rights and working conditions; to gain experience in the application of labor laws, occupational safety, and administrative procedure regulations; during the probation period, a monthly salary from 1250 euro to 1330 euro (before taxes), after the probation period – up to 1420 euro (before taxes) according to work performance level, the position classification catalog established by the Cabinet of Ministers and the corresponding monthly salary group for the position, as well as professional qualifications and competencies; extensive and professional training opportunities; health insurance after 3 months, as well as other additional motivation tools according to work results. Key job responsibilities: to monitor and control compliance with labor law and occupational safety regulatory requirements in enterprises within the supervision territory and to promote compliance; to examine administrative violation cases regarding breaches of labor law and occupational safety regulatory requirements in accordance with the Administrative Liability Law and to make decisions on imposing administrative penalties, as well as to control the proper and timely enforcement of the penalty decision; to examine and respond to submissions, complaints, and suggestions from individuals and legal entities in accordance with the Submission Law requirements; to investigate work-related accidents; to advise employers and employees on labor law and occupational safety regulatory requirements, etc. Requirements for candidates: compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law; higher education (preference given to candidates with education in law or occupational safety); desirable practical experience and knowledge in labor legislation and occupational safety; state language proficiency at the highest level; ability to work under conditions of increased intensity; excellent communication, planning, and control skills; good skills in working with MS Office applications; category B driver's license and ability to drive a car with manual steering system.
