The Inspectorate for Health and Care (IVO) is in a development phase where our mission is growing and placing increased demands on our supervision. To meet this challenge, we are now strengthening our operations and seeking more inspectors with legal backgrounds for our Örebro office. About the job As an inspector, you will handle cases concerning licensed health and medical care professionals. The work involves investigating and assessing professional practice based on applicable regulations and preparing documentation for well-founded and legally sound decisions. Cases may involve, for example: incomplete competence in professional practice, the person having committed a serious crime in or outside professional practice that is likely to affect public confidence in the person, failure to comply with regulations of material importance to patient safety, other circumstances that may raise concern about the person's suitability to practice the profession. You will serve as the primary case handler in some matters and as a co-handler in others, depending on the scope and nature of the cases. You will work in close collaboration with other inspectors from different professions as well as with supervisory physicians and medical supervisors. We expect you to contribute to interdisciplinary assessments and joint determinations. You will make and prepare decisions in cases and prepare reports to the Health and Medical Care Responsibility Board (HSAN). Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: a law degree (jur.kand.), at least two years of current work experience relevant to the role, excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have: experience from courts, for example as a notarial officer or work as a presenting attorney, experience with supervisory work or similar, experience working in decision-making or decision-preparation roles, experience working in health and medical care, one of IVO's areas of supervision. You need good collaboration skills, the ability to contribute your professional perspective while working independently and in a structured manner.
