Do you want to contribute to safer and more secure care? At the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO), you work with oversight that makes a real difference. We are now recruiting inspectors with legal expertise to our office in Umeå. About the job As an inspector, you work with investigating and assessing the professional practice of licensed healthcare professionals based on applicable regulations. Work tasks: investigate cases concerning the professional practice of licensed healthcare professionals, for example related to illness (such as substance abuse), competence, medication prescriptions, care and treatment, or medical records, review patient records, prescriptions, and other relevant documentation, conduct interviews and meetings with individual professionals under IVO's oversight, serve as primary case handler in certain matters and co-handler in others, depending on the scope and nature of the cases, work in close cooperation with colleagues nationally, including inspectors with different professions as well as supervising physicians and supervising doctors, contribute to interdisciplinary assessments and joint determinations, prepare decisions in cases and write reports to the Healthcare Responsibility Board (HSAN). Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: a degree in law, at least two years of current and relevant experience in legal investigation, case handling, decision preparation, or public authority work within the public sector, good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have: experience from courts, for example notary service or work as a presenting lawyer, experience of oversight work, experience of work in decision-making or decision-preparation roles, experience of work within IVO's oversight area of healthcare, experience of reviewing and analyzing medical records, medical documentation, or other extensive documentation, Personal qualities To succeed in the role, you need to have good analytical skills and be able to make well-founded assessments based on complex documentation. You need to be careful and quality-conscious, with the ability to work objectively, with legal certainty, and with high integrity. The role also requires good judgment, especially in cases that may be sensitive or involve difficult considerations. You need to be structured and able to drive matters forward, both independently and together with others. Since the work takes place in close cooperation with colleagues nationally and in interdisciplinary settings, you also need to have good collaboration skills and be able to contribute your professional perspective in joint assessments.
