Do you want to work in a creative environment where music education and research are in focus and where sustainability, good working conditions, and work-life balance are valued? Then you should apply for the position of Institution Controller at KMH!
About Us
Royal University of Music in Stockholm (KMH) is Sweden's only independent university college in the music field. We educate students at the highest international level within various music genres and conduct research and doctoral education in music and music pedagogy.
With us, you will work in a creative environment characterized by music. You work in modern facilities on Valhallavägen in Stockholm and in close collaboration with management and colleagues. KMH is an artistic university college that encourages your own ideas and initiatives, and right now we are in an exciting development phase. The key words for employees at KMH are competence, creativity, and commitment.
We are now looking for an Institution Controller who supports the university college's six institutions and has a key role in financial management. The Institution Controller is placed at the Department for Management Support and Finance, which consists of ten employees and two units. Within operations support, we help each other, and work satisfaction is important to us.
About the Role
As an Institution Controller, you work with both strategic and operational issues in close collaboration with the institution heads. You are responsible for budget, forecast, and financial monitoring work, as well as administering the university college's external research projects. You collaborate with the parts of the university college that affect the institutions' finances, where coding in connection with teachers' staffing planning is an important part.
The role is characterized by many different contacts, and you will serve as a link between the institutions and the central finance and personnel functions. The role requires responsibility and the ability to work in a process-oriented manner. You will work in the systems Unit 4, Primula, TimeEdit, as well as a number of custom-developed systems. Because we are a small organization, other finance-related tasks may become relevant during peak periods.
Qualification Requirements
- Relevant university education or equivalent competence
- At least three years of experience with similar tasks in the public sector
- Experience working with the Unit4 (Agresso) accounting system
- Experience with project accounting
- Strong Excel skills
- Good communication skills in both speech and writing, in Swedish and English
Personal Qualities
To thrive in the role, you need to be able to work both independently and in a group. You are self-driven and comfortable taking ownership of your areas of responsibility, and you enjoy working with both big and small tasks.
The role involves many contact points, and it is therefore important that you have good collaboration skills, are unpretentious, and service-oriented. You are analytical and pedagogical and can handle switching between different tasks.
At all hiring decisions, KMH selects the candidate who, in a comprehensive assessment of merit, skill, personal qualities, and suitability, is deemed to have the best conditions to perform the current tasks and contribute to positive development of the operations.
What We Offer
Scope: Permanent employment 100%, can be initiated with a probationary period.
Placement: KMH's campus, Valhallavägen 105 in Stockholm, but with the possibility of remote work.
Start date: As soon as possible, by agreement.
