About the Job Do you have the ability to quickly analyze complex and sometimes stressful situations while making well-founded decisions? As an internal traffic controller at TLI (Traffic Control and Information), you work at the center of events and are responsible for managing tram traffic in Gothenburg. You monitor the tram infrastructure, handle deviations, and ensure that traffic flows as smoothly as possible. At TLI, we handle approximately 180,000 radio calls and approximately 20,000 phone calls per year. We strive for clear, professional, and efficient communication with drivers, colleagues, and external partners. The department consists of traffic controllers and operational personnel planners. Together, we are approximately 60 employees working closely with a strong focus on responsibility and collaboration. As a traffic controller, you are self-driven, communicative, and solution-oriented. You have good decision-making abilities and feel comfortable working digitally, as monitoring and control occur in multiple parallel systems. You need to have a very good local knowledge of Gothenburg to perform your work tasks. At TLI, we work around the clock, every day of the year to ensure a safe, secure, and punctual tram journey. As a traffic controller with us, you need to be able to work irregular hours, as the schedule is based on three shifts. Training is scheduled to begin February 1, 2027 and starts with eleven weeks of theoretical training with practical elements. This is followed by two practical internships. The entire training spans approximately six months, and during this period you will be offered a permanent employment contract with a probationary period. The department also offers good development opportunities, and after completing training as an internal traffic controller, there is the opportunity to pursue further training as, among other positions, an external traffic controller. As an external traffic controller, your primary tasks include clearing traffic obstacles and accidents, leading and supporting drivers, coordinating events, and performing inspections and contributing improvement suggestions. About You Qualifications: • Swedish driver's license with at least category B and completed probationary period • Very strong ability to read, understand, and express yourself verbally and in writing in technical Swedish, as this is a prerequisite for completing the training and being able to understand traffic and vehicle instructions • Good health condition including normal vision and hearing according to the Swedish Transport Agency's regulations (TSFS 2019:113) • High school education or other education that the employer deems equivalent • Good digital competence, experienced in working simultaneously in different IT environments • Good ability to make decisions under stress • Documented experience from administrative work Meriting Factors: • Good local knowledge of Gothenburg • Good experience communicating via Rakel radio or similar communication systems We are looking for someone who is driven and takes responsibility for your work tasks and completes what you start, whether working alone or with others. The position requires health clearance for security service according to TSFS 2019:113, a passed drug test, and considerable weight will be placed on personal competencies.
