The Role of Procurement Manager
The role is both strategic and operational with company-wide responsibility for developing, structuring, and coordinating our procurement and logistics work. You drive processes from start to finish, and your main responsibilities include:
• Hold overall and coordinating responsibility for the company's procurement and logistics matters.
• Independently set requirements and ensure quality of company-wide procurements in accordance with LOU and LUF.
• Drive business efficiency and cost-effectiveness by identifying and implementing savings and efficiencies.
• Manage active contract administration, supplier follow-up, and ensure high contract compliance together with the company's procurement personnel.
• Develop and monitor the company's processes, routines, and support systems for inventory and logistics.
• Act as an advisory function to management, procurement personnel, and the municipality's procurement unit.
The person responsible for this position shall actively and with commitment:
• Contribute to the company's overall goals and strategies.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on the development and results of the company's procurement and purchasing work to the immediate supervisor.
The work requires good collaboration and communication skills. You are business-oriented, flexible, structured, and service-minded, as well as quality-conscious. The ability to work both independently and in a team is essential. You also have a strong desire to develop within the field. You are goal- and results-oriented and enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously at times.
Education Requirements
We are looking for someone with an academic degree or post-secondary education (e.g., YH education) in procurement, logistics with knowledge of law, economics, or other relevant education for the role. Alternatively, equivalent professional experience.
Experience Requirements
To succeed in the role, you must have:
• Documented experience in public procurement and good knowledge of LOU and/or LUF.
• Experience working in modern business systems where processing, planning, and follow-up occur in real-time.
• Experience with relevant environmental monitoring for the field.
Meritorious
It is meritorious if you have experience with:
• Analysis and strategic follow-up of an organization's total procurement volumes and procurement work.
• Security-protected procurements or work in security-classified operations.
• Category-driven procurement.
• IT procurement.
• Working in a project-driven organization.
