The Jämtland Police District is one of the police districts in the North Region. The geographical area covers eight municipalities. The Jämtland Police District is divided into two local police areas: Östersund and Jämtland/Härjedalen. At the police district level, there is an investigation section and a police district office. Within the Jämtland/Härjedalen local police area, there are response and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service. We are seeking a police officer for external service in crime prevention (BF) and response activities (IGV) based in Funäsdalen. Job Responsibilities As a BF-IGV police officer, you will have a broad mandate and your work tasks can therefore vary. Main job responsibilities: Work as a police officer in external service within the response activities, which means event-driven work combined with planned crime prevention initiatives Perform investigation tasks within the criminal investigation activities, where you are expected to be able to handle investigations of varying scope and take independent and long-term responsibility for your own cases Participate in other assignments, such as collaboration assignments based on local and prioritized needs Be prepared to support other parts of local police operations as needed, such as reception duties and certain service work. This may include handling of stationary matters such as maintenance and service of equipment and vehicles Given the varied nature of the work, you are expected to have a high level of work initiative and actively seek work tasks based on the needs present aligned with the local problem landscape. You work both as a response officer when emergencies occur and as a crime prevention officer based on local problem landscapes as well as assignments from the area, region, or nationally if needed. Much of the year, the work is characterized by strong tourist flow. You work in a problem-oriented and intelligence-led manner in daily operations, close to local communities. We collaborate with Norwegian and Swedish customs as western Härjedalen is part of a border area with Norway. Operations are partially conducted in mountainous terrain/environments and snowmobile driving may be part of the job. As a BF-IGV police officer, you will be part of a work group under the direction of a group chief, and in the event-driven work you will be led by external commanders based in Östersund. In this role, you will primarily work in Härjedalen and Berg municipalities. The work group consists of employees located at three different bases which are Sveg, Funäsdalen, and Svenstavik. We therefore operate over a large geographical area, which means that driving and car travel are a natural part of the work. Qualifications This is an opportunity for you who have: Approved police training according to Regulation (2014:1105) on Police Officer Training Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English Good ability to use computers and experience with the police's various IT systems as working tools in your daily work Category B driver's license It is an advantage if you also have: Relevant training in crime prevention matters Relevant experience with cooperation with other authorities and societal actors Experience working with the local problem landscape within PO Jämtland Several years of current experience serving in a similar role within IGV/BF, police in external service Current experience with independent criminal investigation work and experience driving your own investigations Current snowmobile license and experience with snowmobile driving Personal Qualities We are seeking someone who is committed to your work, takes great responsibility for your tasks, and has a flexible approach with a problem-solving focus.
