About the Position
As an engineer in data engineering and modeling, you contribute to ensuring that business-critical data is correct, accessible, and sustainable in an increasingly complex power system. You work with modeling power system models, data management, and system support for operational planning and monitoring, while developing the team's capabilities in structured data management. You enable increased digitalization and automation and contribute to Svenska kraftnät's mission in the energy transition and development of the Nordic power system by creating conditions for data-driven decision-making. The role includes building and maintaining smaller scripts developed with Python and C#, as well as working with SQL queries and data views.
Your Tasks:
Model and further develop power system models for operational planning and ensure data quality through validation and analysis using smaller scripts in C# and Python.
Design and manage reports for planning and monitoring. This includes building database views (SQL) and working with structured data in JSON and XML format resulting from OData queries to REST APIs.
Specify system support for grid operations, including data and information modeling, testing, and some configuration.
Act as a bridge between the grid, data, and IT by translating the organization's needs into robust technical solutions and establishing practices and documentation for data management.
You will be part of the Grid Operations Development unit within the Operations department. The unit was established in 2025 and is responsible for driving development work for operational grid operations. Eleven employees work here with various roles and competencies, including business developers, process leaders, product owners, and power system specialists. The work is characterized by close collaboration, knowledge exchange, and many touchpoints with grid operations and the IT organization.

You hold a civil engineering degree or master's degree from a university or college in data/information technology or equivalent education and/or work experience that Svenska kraftnät considers equivalent.
You also have:
Work experience in data engineering and/or data management, for example with data quality, infrastructure, or data analysis issues.
Very strong ability to communicate, both in writing and orally, in Swedish and English.
Meritorious
It is an advantage if you have:
Knowledge of the power system's structure, data flows, and technical dependencies.
Experience working with structured data in JSON or XML format, with Postman, REST APIs and OData, or with MSSQL databases.
Experience documenting processes and structured approaches regarding data models and information flows.
Experience in business development and/or data management.
Experience modeling technical systems.
