To the Maritime Cooperation and Development unit, we are seeking an infrastructure coordinator. The unit is organizationally placed under the Infrastructure Department. Job Responsibilities The unit works to safeguard and maintain maritime interests regarding accessibility, navigability and safety. The unit is also responsible for responding to incoming referrals within the maritime sector's sphere of influence as well as other government tasks concerning public ports and shipping lanes. The unit also participates in strategic issues related to shipping lanes and other maritime transport-related matters. The unit is furthermore responsible for long-term strategic issues such as national planning of marine spatial plans, national interests, and investments in infrastructure (National Plan for Transport Infrastructure). This work involves close contact with the Swedish Transport Administration at both national and regional levels. Within the unit, preparedness work is conducted as part of civil defence efforts. This takes place in cooperation with the Armed Forces, the Civil Contingencies Agency, the Swedish Transport Administration and the Swedish Maritime Authority. Several of the employees also work at an international level within NATO. The unit is now seeking an infrastructure coordinator with a nautical background and experience from the transport sector, particularly the maritime sector. Handling incoming referrals to the unit constitutes the largest part of the work, but your role also includes participating and assisting as an expert function in both internal and external projects, as well as participating in forums relevant to the Swedish Maritime Administration. Who are you? To be eligible for the position, you should have: academic university education (at least 180 credits) with a focus on maritime studies experience from the transport sector, with particular focus on the maritime sector very good ability to read, analyze, review and write reports as well as other government documents It is meritorious if you have: many years of experience working in the maritime sector in the role of ship's officer experience with referral handling or work within a government agency or public administration experience collaborating with the Swedish Transport Administration, the Armed Forces or work related to civil defence knowledge and experience of working with GIS tools We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. The role of infrastructure coordinator requires you to be creative, take initiative, be self-driven and able to make independent decisions. You collaborate in a responsive manner and have an aptitude for creating good communication in professional relationships, both internally and externally.
