The Defense Medicine Center's staff is growing and we are now seeking an infrastructure officer who will be an important key player in our development About the Unit The staff comprises a broad spectrum of expertise spanning the staff's various departments and areas of responsibility – from operations management, preparedness and national deployment activities to infrastructure planning and monitoring, personnel and financial matters. The staff is led by the staff chief. As an infrastructure officer in this position, you are part of the staff's planning department where you report directly to the planning chief, but you will support the entire unit. Main Duties Work as an infrastructure officer at FömedC involves, among other things, planning, leading and implementing infrastructure projects and matters within the area in your own unit regarding infrastructure supply. You will also participate in infrastructure planning of the unit's needs in the short and long term. Duties also include ordering building modifications and you are responsible for planning facility supply. You are advisory to unit leadership on infrastructure matters. Additionally, you are responsible for monitoring, analysis, evaluation and development related to infrastructure and for leading project groups. The work involves cooperation with military and civilian actors within and outside the Swedish Armed Forces. At Gothenburg Garrison, garrison planning is led by the Älvsborg Amphibious Regiment (Amf 4). Cooperation takes place on an ongoing basis with the Swedish Armed Forces Local Planning Unit (LplE) and the Fortifications Agency (FortV). The Swedish Armed Forces is growing and job duties may develop over time. Qualifications Post-secondary education in civil engineering/infrastructure or equivalent education that the employer deems comparable. Previous work experience within infrastructure. Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English. Class B driver's license (manual). Meritorious Familiarity with the Swedish Armed Forces' infrastructure processes and reporting systems for facilities and infrastructure projects. Experience in leading and driving projects. Experience in compiling and documenting, for example, reports and development proposals. Experience in staff service. Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who can plan, lead and monitor operations under varying conditions. You have the ability to analyze complex issues and see the whole picture and you work methodically to handle tasks of varying nature. You need to have good organizational skills and be thorough. The work requires good cooperation skills, strong social competence and the ability to build and maintain good relationships.
