JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Information Security Coordinator in Vårgårda Municipality, you will have a central role in protecting the municipality's information assets.
You will lead, coordinate, develop and follow up on Vårgårda Municipality's systematic information security and data protection work in collaboration with the Security Chief and others in the municipality.
You are responsible for interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations and directives, and for developing, implementing and maintaining strategic documents and guidelines. The assignment also includes working with classification, handling and protection of classified information, as well as managing information security incidents.
You work closely with operations and serve as an advisor, coordinator and knowledge disseminator in information security.
You will be an important part of crisis preparedness work by bringing an information security perspective to work such as risk and vulnerability analyses, security protection and continuity management. You design and conduct training and information initiatives, and contribute to developing the municipality's processes and working methods in this area. You also monitor developments in information security and report relevant findings to management, in close collaboration with other colleagues in the unit.
You drive information and data protection work forward together with the operations and serve as a contact person toward the data protection officer.
Since the position is placed in the Staff and Service unit, other work tasks may also occur.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have:
• relevant academic education in information or IT security, systems science or other education that the employer deems equivalent
• high security awareness and understanding of the risks and vulnerabilities a municipality can be exposed to
• good computer skills and express yourself well in Swedish and English in both speech and writing
Security clearance including background check in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted before employment as the position is security classified.
It is meritorious if you also have:
• relevant education in security protection, for example from the Swedish Security Service, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, the Swedish Armed Forces or the Swedish Defence University
• experience with risk analysis, incident management and governance documents
• experience in leading projects and investigations
• experience in the security protection field
• experience with data protection
• experience with cybersecurity
• experience with information security
• experience in municipal or public operations
