Do you want to work with information security where it makes a real difference? As Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Region Västmanland, you will have a key role in leading and developing a strategically important area in a complex and socially critical operation. You will drive the region-wide information security work, translate requirements and regulations into sustainable solutions, and help strengthen the organization's ability to meet both today's and tomorrow's challenges. Responsibilities As Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), you will have a central role in leading and developing Region Västmanland's systematic information security work. You are responsible for region-wide efforts and drive both strategic and operational matters with a focus on business value, quality, and regulatory compliance. The assignment involves varied and qualified work with significant personal responsibility, where you collaborate with multiple functions within the organization. You will lead information security work with the support of information security coordinators/DSOs, information security specialists, legal experts, and IT security specialists. Your responsibilities include: - Leading, coordinating, and further developing region-wide information security work - Translating legal requirements and regulations into concrete, business-adapted solutions - Conducting analyses, investigations, and assessments within information security - Developing, creating, and maintaining governing documents and guidelines - Planning and implementing training initiatives - Providing expert advice and support to the organization on information security matters - Leading the information security working group within systematic security protection work You will be based in the regional office but work in close collaboration with departments throughout the organization. The role involves broad cooperation with administrative directors, facility management, legal experts, and IT security specialists. The central information security function currently consists of an information security strategist, an information security coordinator/DSO, and an information security specialist. Other departments have information security representatives and IT security specialists. In connection with a retirement, the role of information security strategist will be replaced by the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: - A university degree in information security or equivalent competence - Several years of experience leading information security work, preferably in the public sector - Excellent knowledge of the ISO/IEC 27000 series - Excellent knowledge of current cybersecurity regulations, such as NIS2, the Cybersecurity Act, and the CER Directive - Experience with change management It is a merit if you have experience with supervisory work and work on crisis preparedness related to information security. To succeed in the role of Chief Information Security Officer, you have a well-developed ability to create and maintain trusting relationships in professional contexts. You are outgoing and collaborate in a responsive and flexible way, with a strong ability to communicate, cooperate, and handle different perspectives and interests constructively. You have good judgment and make well-considered prioritizations even in complex situations. Through your analytical abilities, you combine different types of information and make thoughtful decisions that take into account the organization's needs from a holistic perspective. Furthermore, you work in a structured and methodical manner, with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently, even under time pressure. You are clear in your communication and ensure that messages are understood, expectations are clear, and follow-up occurs systematically. The role also requires you to be proactive and drive work forward. You take responsibility for translating ideas into action and actively contribute to development and improvement within information security. You have a clear solution focus, high quality awareness, and good customer service orientation. You work independently, while at the same time easily building trust, establishing relationships, and contributing to good cooperation. You also have the ability to see the best interests of the entire organization and adapt your work based on the organization's overarching goals. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities. Employment Terms Permanent employment, full-time, daytime hours. Start date by mutual agreement. The position allows for partial remote work when operational needs permit. The position is security-classified, and as part of recruitment and appointment, a security clearance including a security interview will be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
