RTU Riga Business School (RBS) is an internationally recognized business school operating within Riga Technical University. Since 1991, RTU RBS has educated business leaders through internationally oriented study programs, executive professional development programs, and by fostering close cooperation with the business industry. Starting in 2027, RBS will enter a new development phase by integrating the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management (IEVF), thus creating one of the largest and most influential business, management, economics, innovation, and interdisciplinary research centers in the Baltic region. The Director's task will be to provide strategic leadership and be responsible for the overall strategic, academic, operational, and financial activities of RTU RBS. RTU RIGA BUSINESS SCHOOL (RBS) DIRECTOR (Profession code 1112 29) Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a long-term development strategy to establish RTU RBS as an internationally recognized and leading business school in the Baltic region and beyond. Ensure high quality of study programs, research, lifelong learning, and student experience, promoting innovation and knowledge transfer. Inspire, lead, and develop academic and administrative staff, fostering a high-performance, collaboration-based, and inclusive organizational culture. Ensure successful completion of accreditation processes. Manage financial planning, budget development, and resource management to ensure sustainable development of RTU RBS. Monitor RTU RBS operational results and implement strategic objectives, achieving key performance indicators (KPIs). Enhance RTU RBS international recognition and competitiveness. Represent RTU RBS in Latvia and internationally, strengthening cooperation with state institutions, business leaders, alumni, universities, accreditation bodies, and international organizations. Lead international project acquisition and fundraising, as well as their implementation. Ensure RTU RBS operations comply with RTU internal and external regulatory acts. Perform other management duties appropriate to the Director position in accordance with RTU's strategic objectives. Requirements for Candidates Master's degree (or equivalent qualification) in management sciences, economics, finance, law, or another relevant field. Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) will be considered an advantage. At least five years of experience in managing an organization or company, including responsibility for strategy, finances, operational processes, and personnel management. Demonstrable experience in strategic planning, organizational development, and change management. Demonstrable experience in financial management, budget planning, resource management, and operational results management. Analytical skills, strategic thinking, planning abilities, and the capacity to make informed decisions in complex situations. Experience in building cooperation with state institutions and other significant stakeholders. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and collaboration-building skills. Understanding of higher education, university management, and the public sector operating environment. Excellent knowledge of Latvian and English (at least C1 level) to effectively represent RTU RBS both in Latvia and in the international environment. Impeccable professional reputation and compliance with all requirements established in regulatory acts applicable to senior-level management positions in the public sector. Experience building and developing high-performance academic or professional teams. Successful experience in attracting and implementing state or internationally funded projects. Knowledge and practical experience in public procurement and contract management. Experience developing institutional policies, internal regulatory acts, and regulatory documentation.
