The Correctional Facility Administration is a state administrative institution under the Ministry of Justice that implements state policy in the field of detention as a security measure and deprivation of liberty as a criminal penalty.
An official is a person with appropriate professional education, qualifications, and special service rank who has taken an oath and serves in the Administration. The rights and duties of officials are determined by the Correctional Facility Administration Law and the Service Rules for Officials with Special Service Ranks in Institutions of the Ministry of Interior and the Correctional Facility Administration.

Requirements for Candidates:
Compliance with requirements specified in the Service Rules for Officials with Special Service Ranks in Institutions of the Ministry of Interior and the Correctional Facility Administration:
- Latvian citizen;
- Age 18 to 50 years;
- At least first-level professional higher education;
- Latvian language proficiency at C level, stage 2;
- Physical fitness meets requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 288 of 28.05.2013 "Physical Fitness Requirements for Officials with Special Service Ranks in Institutions of the Ministry of Interior and the Correctional Facility Administration");
- Health status and psychological characteristics meet requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 970 of 21.11.2006 "Regulations on Health Status and Psychological Characteristics Required for Officials with Special Service Ranks in Institutions of the Ministry of Interior and the Correctional Facility Administration and Candidates for Such Positions, and the Procedure for Examining Health Status and Psychological Characteristics");
- Has not been convicted of intentional criminal offense – regardless of conviction expungement or removal;
- Has not been sentenced for intentional criminal offense with exemption from punishment;
- Has not been prosecuted for committing an intentional criminal offense, except where the official was prosecuted but the criminal proceedings were terminated on rehabilitative grounds;
- Has not been declared legally incapable in the manner prescribed by law;
- Has not been dismissed from service in the Ministry of Interior system or Correctional Facility Administration due to disciplinary dismissal;
- Good computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel);
- Ability to plan and organize work, execute assigned tasks in priority order;
- Good communication skills, high psychological resilience;
- Ability to work both in teams and individually;
- High sense of responsibility, analytical thinking, ability to work in high-intensity conditions.
Duties:
- Conduct individual resocialization work with convicted persons by developing and implementing resocialization plans, maintaining resocialization records, providing consultations, and organizing resocialization, social rehabilitation, and family ties strengthening activities;
- Prepare and manage documentation related to convicted persons' sentence execution, regime changes, conditional early release, pardons, commendations, disciplinary sanctions, reviews, and information entry into the Inmate Information System;
- Participate in assessment of convicted persons and represent the institution by preparing opinions and information, participating in commissions, inter-institutional meetings, and, when necessary, representing the correctional facility in court;
- Ensure supervision of convicted persons and compliance with internal rules by conducting preventive and control measures, monitoring resocialization activities, escorting inmates, participating in searches and roll calls;
- Cooperate with correctional facility structural units and external institutions, provide suggestions for improving work and resocialization processes, inform inmates of their rights and duties, and promote a safe and effective resocialization environment.
