The Correctional Facilities Administration is a state administrative institution under the Ministry of Justice that implements state policy in the field of detention as a security measure and deprivation of liberty as a criminal punishment.
An official is a person with appropriate professional education, qualifications and special service rank who has taken an oath and serves in the Administration. The rights and duties of officials are determined by the Correctional Facilities Administration Law and the Service Conduct Law of Officials with Special Service Ranks of the Interior Ministry System Institutions and the Correctional Facilities Administration.

Requirements for Candidates:
Compliance with requirements set out in the Interior Ministry System Institutions and Correctional Facilities Administration Service Conduct Law for Officials with Special Service Ranks:
Laotian citizen;
Age between 18 and 50 years;
First level professional higher education in law, civil and military protection, social and human sciences, teacher education and educational sciences, social welfare, humanities, business and administration, computer science, engineering sciences and technologies;
Foreign language knowledge at least level C2;
Physical fitness in compliance with requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 288 of May 28, 2013 "Physical Fitness Requirements for Officials with Special Service Ranks of Interior Ministry System Institutions and Correctional Facilities Administration");
Health status and psychological characteristics in compliance with requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 970 of November 21, 2006 "Regulations on Health Status and Psychological Characteristics Required for Officials with Special Service Ranks of Interior Ministry System Institutions and Correctional Facilities Administration and Official Position Candidates and the Procedure for Checking Health Status and Psychological Characteristics");
Category 2 access to state secret facilities is required;
Has not been convicted of an intentional criminal offense – regardless of conviction erasure or removal;
Has not been convicted of an intentional criminal offense with exemption from punishment;
Has not been held criminally liable for the commission of an intentional criminal offense, except in cases where the official was held criminally liable but criminal proceedings against them were terminated on a rehabilitating basis;
Has not been declared legally incapacitated in accordance with the law;
Has not been dismissed from service in the Interior Ministry System or Correctional Facilities Administration due to disciplinary action – dismissal from service;
Strong communication skills, high psychological resilience;
Ability to work both in a team and individually;
High sense of responsibility, analytical thinking, ability to work under high-intensity conditions.
Duties:
Collect and analyze information about the security situation in the correctional facility, provide recommendations to the department head to prevent security risks;
Carry out operational activities;
Provide assistance to correctional facility investigators and other law enforcement agencies in investigating criminal offenses committed by inmates and correctional facility officials with special service ranks and staff;
In accordance with the department's competence, provide support to operational activity performers in detecting and preventing criminal offenses, as well as implementing other security measures;
Carry out operational activities at the operational investigation stage;
In accordance with the department's competence, enter information into information systems;
Perform special clerk duties;
Review submissions, suggestions, complaints and reports and prepare draft responses.
