Senior Lecturer in Social Work We are seeking a person with a doctoral degree in social work who wants to be part of developing teaching and research at Marie Cederschiöld University College. The Department of Social Work offers education at bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. We have one of Sweden's oldest social work programs, with 90 students admitted each fall semester. In addition, we offer two master's programs: one focusing on intimate partner violence and one in health and medical social work. The department conducts research under the heading "Social Work for Social Justice" within three prioritized areas: Children, Youth and Violence; Family Caregiving; and Disability. Beyond these three profile areas, the department also conducts studies on, for example, civil society and social work, voluntary social work, international perspectives, and substance abuse. We have a doctoral program in social work with dozens of active doctoral students. Your Responsibilities As a senior lecturer, you are expected to: Conduct teaching at bachelor's and master's levels. Conduct research. Work to secure external research funding for the department. Implement quality assurance and administrative work related to education. Contribute to developing national and international collaborations, both within academia and with the broader society. Support a collegial and inclusive environment through presence and collaborative skills. Research and/or subject development typically comprises 20 percent of working time. Qualifications Requirements: Doctoral degree in social work or a related subject if the research is relevant to social work Social work degree (socionom) Evaluation Criteria When hiring, we will place particular emphasis on documented scientific, pedagogical, and leadership, development, and collaboration skills, according to the university's employment regulations for senior lecturers. We are seeking a person with solid background in social work who wants to contribute to developing the field in both teaching and research. Professional experience in social work is therefore meritorious. We seek someone who is attentive and has strong collaboration skills. You plan and organize your work independently and responsibly. You have excellent ability to express yourself orally and in writing in both Swedish and English. Scientific Skills: Visibility and engagement in the scientific community Breadth, depth, and originality of research Relevant scientific publications connected to the position's content Clear research direction and experience in seeking and securing external research funding Pedagogical Skills: Ability to vary teaching methods and assessment forms based on the nature of the subject Ability to contribute to the development of learning environments, teaching materials, and educational resources Scientifically well-grounded approach to teaching and learning in higher education Experience with individual supervision of thesis work at relevant levels Ability to lead and organize pedagogical activities Commitment to pedagogy and subject expertise Higher education pedagogy education of at least 15 credits or equivalent competence Leadership, Development, and Collaboration Skills: Ability to lead and develop education and research Collaboration skills within academia and in relation to society at large Experience with pedagogical leadership assignments, such as course responsibility at relevant levels Employment Terms and Application As an employee at Marie Cederschiöld University College, you are offered flexible working hours, opportunity for extended continuous summer leave, occupational pension, and access to various employee benefits.
