Description Högsbogårdsskolan is a grades 1–9 adapted primary school for students following the adapted primary school curriculum with subject-based areas. Our students are at an early developmental level. We currently have three classes and one after-school program with approximately 10 students enrolled. Based on the curriculum and governing documents, we create together a safe and stimulating environment in the after-school program aimed at strengthening our students in both their academic development and personal growth, while providing them with meaningful leisure time. Duties We are now seeking an educator trained as an after-school program teacher with strong commitment to designing and adapting instruction in the after-school program to meet our students' specific needs. Examples of duties: Together with student assistants, lead, plan, implement, develop, and evaluate after-school activities based on chapter 4 of the curriculum and other governing documents Work to create a safe, stimulating, and educational program Plan, lead, and coordinate work for after-school staff during afternoon activities and holiday programs Collaborate with students, guardians, teachers, and other partners involved in supporting each student Participate in practical work as needed by the program Work and document in the systems used by the program You are part of a work team throughout the school day and work closely with students individually or in small groups. Since our students have significant care and self-care needs, we support each other in assisting students during meals, bathroom time, and other care activities. Planning time is included to carry out your duties and is allocated based on the responsibilities above. Qualifications Formal Qualifications We seek someone with valid teacher certification in after-school programs. You have experience working with children/youth with intellectual disabilities and other variations in functioning. Furthermore, we would like you to: have experience with self-care and personal care assistance have documented experience leading other adults and feel confident doing so have teaching experience have digital competency and the ability to support our students using digital tools The role requires that you can express yourself fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. You also need knowledge of, or willingness to learn, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). You view learning as a whole, where both the after-school program and school contribute to student learning. You have strong ability to collaborate with guardians, rehabilitation services, and other external partners to create a holistic view of students' needs. You show with great heart that you see each student, are patient and calm. At the same time, you are highly organized and clear.
