About the Position We're seeking a museum host who enjoys meeting people and wants to contribute to creating positive and memorable visit experiences. With us, you'll have the opportunity to meet visitors from around the world and be an important part of the operations at both Historiska museet and Ekonomiska museet. You will be part of the Host Services unit, which is responsible for hosting, visitor services, museum shop, and event and rental operations at Historiska museet and Ekonomiska museet. The unit is organizationally located at Historiska museet but works for both museums. As a museum host, you play an important role in the visitor experience and serve as a bridge between our visitors and the museums' exhibitions, programs, museum shop, and other offerings. In this role, you have a central and outward-facing function where visitor interaction is the focus. You welcome, inform, and guide visitors in the museums' public spaces and contribute to a level of hospitality that makes people feel welcome, seen, and inspired. You work with the sale of entrance tickets, annual passes, audio guides, and shop merchandise, and inform visitors about exhibitions, programs, and other activities. You're also responsible for helping visitors find their way and get the most out of their visit. The role also includes digital hosting where you respond to comments and questions on the museums' social media. The position includes hosting related to event and rental operations, primarily on weekends and evenings, where you receive booked groups and guests, assist at concerts, programs, and other events, and handle basic technical support as needed. During concerts, programs, and other public events, you're expected to welcome visitors from the stage and tell them about the museums and our activities. You'll also be responsible for coordinating and supervising interns at Historiska museet. As a museum host, you're also expected to conduct guided tours in Historiska museet's exhibitions in connection with school breaks, weekends, programs, and event activities. Together with your colleagues, you work to develop the visitor experience and create a welcoming and professional level of hospitality with the visitor at the center. About You We're looking for someone who has: Experience in hosting and service within a museum, shop, events, or similar operations. Good knowledge of Swedish, English, and a third language. Good knowledge of active sales and upselling. Experience conducting guided tours or similar activities. Experience with cash register work and cash handling. It's advantageous if you have: Language skills: French, German, and Finnish. Education in history, economic history, culture, or similar. Education in tourism/visitor industries.
