Your Responsibilities Full-time mentors work closely with students and hold a key position in the school's operationally preventive and safety-creating work. In your role as a full-time mentor, you will provide student support. This involves: Participating in student health work and collaborating with social services and other authorities in the school's crime prevention efforts. Work preventively to create safety and a productive study environment, while also being able to support and respond calmly during acute disruptions and stressful situations. Make parent contacts. Plan and participate in mentor sessions and meetings with guardians depending on the meeting content. Encourage and coach students and work with motivational initiatives, goal-setting, and future planning. Monitor student attendance/absence and implement remedial measures. Support students with attendance support initiatives. Document in writing in a factual and legally sound manner. You will also work with implementing routines and action plans, conduct rules and school values, as well as plan and conduct social activities. Teachers at the school work in teams around the students, and there are also other professionals connected to the students within our student health team. As a full-time mentor, you will collaborate extensively with them and be part of the school's safety team. Your Workplace Ekholmsskolan is a grades 7-9 school in Linköping's southern districts. The school has approximately 400 students, including a special education group. We also have a resource school specializing in autism. The school has 60 employees, most of whom are teaching staff. The school has a complete Student Health Team with our three full-time mentors (which will become four with this new position). About You We are primarily looking for someone with a pedagogical, social, or behavioral science education at the post-secondary level. Alternatively, you have other education that the employer considers equivalent. It is advantageous if you have: Experience working with teenagers in middle school ages. Knowledge of laws and regulations related to primary school. Knowledge of various conversation methods. Experience collaborating with authorities (such as social services). Experience with conduct and safety work as well as conflict management. Experience working with students in need of structure and support. Since communication and documentation are a large part of the role, it is a requirement that you have good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. As a person, you are outgoing and enjoy building professional relationships, while being able to distinguish between the personal and professional. You have good collaboration skills where you smoothly adapt to and address the individual needs of students and colleagues for support. By enthusiastically motivating others, you create involvement and engagement. Furthermore, you communicate clearly and ensure that your message gets through.
