If you want to combine coaching, student support, and collaboration in a meaningful role, you could be our next full-time mentor. Your new job We are seeking a full-time mentor for Brinellgymnasiet. As a full-time mentor, you are the primary contact person and responsible for a group of students, distributed within the same class and/or different classes. You follow students' study situations, attendance, knowledge development, and social situation throughout their entire school time to support them in completing their gymnasium studies. You are responsible for planning and conducting mentor time and class meetings for each class. The role also includes participating in parent-guardian meetings and conducting and documenting development conversations. The work involves being available for students who need planning support, study help, or other supportive measures. Together with other full-time mentors and other professionals, you work on the school's values and relationship-building efforts. You plan and conduct group-strengthening activities and actively work to create a strong class community and cohesion. You are also present throughout the school environment to contribute to a sense of security and an atmosphere conducive to studying. As a full-time mentor, you function as a central link in collaboration between the school, student, parent-guardians, and other important adults in the student's surroundings. About you We are looking for someone with completed post-secondary education as a teacher, social pedagogue, social worker, or recreation leader, or alternatively other education or experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have prior work experience, and it is an asset if it is within educational activities. If you have worked in roles with young people as a mentor, coach, or coordinator, we consider that an advantage. You need to have good ability to communicate in Swedish both verbally and in writing. You also have good IT skills and are accustomed to working with digital tools. Furthermore, you have knowledge of the school's governing documents and values. As a person, you have good collaboration skills and find it easy to build trusting relationships. You enjoy working closely with both young people and colleagues. You are responsive in your interactions, communicate clearly, and contribute to creating a positive collaborative climate. We also value that you are stable, have good judgment, and the ability to make well-founded assessments from different perspectives. You can synthesize complex information, prioritize appropriately, and make well-considered decisions in your daily work. You take responsibility for your work tasks and drive your work forward in a structured manner. Furthermore, you have a strategic approach and the ability to see long-term opportunities and consequences. You work with a holistic perspective and adapt your efforts to contribute to both the student's development and the organization's overall goals. About our school Brinellgymnasiet is located in Nässjö and is one of five schools within Höglandsgymnasiet. Together we improve competence, raise quality, and give gymnasium students even better conditions to succeed. At Brinellgymnasiet, we have approximately 200 employees and approximately 1,100 students. We offer 14 national programs and have a national sports gymnasium specializing in bowling, national sports education in bandy and basketball, and local sports education in basketball, football, and ice hockey. Our guiding principles are respect, responsibility, knowledge, and well-being. We strive for structure in teaching, a working atmosphere conducive to learning in classes, and for our students to feel safe and enjoy being with us. The school has a newly renovated modern library that is an important part of our educational activities. Good to know The position is permanent with a start date by agreement.
