Helena School is located in central Skövde, near the travel center with good transportation connections. We are a secondary school for grades 7-9 with approximately 500 students and we currently have just over 60 employees working at the school. The school has an implemented operations and development organization that, together with school leadership, educators, student welfare services, resource teams and administration, addresses the challenges we face in operational and strategic work. Our 6 senior teachers lead work on our prioritized development areas: language and knowledge-developing working methods, mathematics, and study environment and attendance. Helena School has a student welfare team consisting of a counselor, school nurse, educational and career guidance officer, special education teacher, speech-language pathologist, psychologist and school leadership.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Teacher in home and consumer studies. The position includes mentoring; we place great emphasis on collaboration and you will be part of a work team that focuses on students' subject knowledge and personal development. You will also support students' entire school day with a focus on high attendance and eligibility for upper secondary school.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher in home and consumer studies. We consider it meritorious if you have worked in the school world for a couple of years. You should have good computer skills, be open to new working methods, and be able to work both with individualized and collaborative approaches. As an educator, you have good structure in your work and systematically evaluate your teaching. You are also expected to create motivation and curiosity in students through a positive and trusting worldview. You have high expectations for results and development at both group and individual levels and support each student in their development. You are responsible and have good collaboration skills and create conditions for participation among students, staff and guardians.
Employment form: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-09-01.
To begin working in preschools, schools, after-school programs and other educational activities, you must provide a certificate from the criminal record registry. The certificate is valid for one year and is ordered from the Swedish Police Authority www.polisen.se.
