About the Role As Head of Engineering, you are responsible for creating the right conditions for the development organization and contributing to a long-term sustainable technical strategy. You lead a group of approximately 20–25 employees and consultants distributed across four Scrum teams and work closely with company leadership, the product organization, and the teams' lead developers to drive the development of a modern and scalable platform with a focus on quality, accessibility, and future-proofing. The role combines strategic and operational responsibility, where through modern and inclusive leadership you create conditions for team success, well-being, and skill development. You drive architecture initiatives across multiple teams, with particular focus on microservices and platform development, while also serving as technical support to lead developers and ensuring efficient collaboration between development, operations, and product. The assignment also includes responsibility for vendor partnerships, making well-informed decisions in a high-pace business with many parallel initiatives, and acting as site manager for the Luleå office with responsibility for workplace environment and office-related matters. About You An engineering degree or other technical education that provides a solid technical foundation. Experience leading people and teams in a development organization. Several years of experience in software development, delivery, and operations. Good understanding of system architecture and modern development environments. Experience working closely with developers and technical teams in a hands-on role. Ability to communicate technical decisions and architectural choices in a clear and engaging way. Very good skills in Swedish and English. It is meritorious if you have Experience in software product development. Interest in and knowledge of AI from an engineering perspective. Experience from fast-growing product companies or technology-intensive operations. Understanding of the industry in which the business operates. To succeed in this role, you need to be a leader who helps people grow. You motivate through trust, presence, and engagement, and you are driven by helping others succeed. You have a genuine interest in technology but also strong interpersonal skills. You feel comfortable switching between strategic discussions, architecture questions, employee conversations, and operational challenges.
