Medborgarskolan is a study association with humanistic values that operates throughout the country. Our courses and cultural activities engage nearly one million participants each year. Medborgarskolan region East is a non-profit organization that, in addition to traditional adult education, also operates corporate training, preschool, and daily activity programs for people with disabilities. Mentor at Glädjekällan, a Creative Daily Activity Program About the Program Glädjekällan is a daily activity program with a music focus for adults within LSS (the Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). Here we create a meaningful and joyful everyday life where participants' creativity and self-expression are at the center. We work daily with music, but also with other creative expressions such as dance, movement, studio work, and creative activities in various forms, as well as cooking. We perform, record material, and make the program visible in society. Community, participation, and development are central elements—for both participants and staff. About the Role As a mentor, you are part of a work team where you together plan and carry out activities in the program. Your work tasks include guiding participants individually or together with other staff in an activity where music, creativity, and creative expression are central elements. You work closely with participants and support their development, participation, and creative expression. The role also involves contributing to structure, safety, and a positive work environment in the group. The work includes care-related tasks, habilitation-based approaches, social documentation, and collaboration with participants' networks. Education and Experience You have the ability to be flexible and responsive to the program's needs. You are communicative, have good collaboration skills, and contribute with an open and engaged approach. You have good interpersonal skills and can motivate participants both individually and together with colleagues. You also have the ability to meet individuals who need adapted support in daily life. Requirements Experience working with the current target group or other experience deemed to provide good understanding of the target group's needs Good ability to communicate in spoken and written Swedish Ability to work in a structured and independent manner within given frameworks A criminal records check extract is required before employment. Meritorious Education in healthcare and social services, pedagogy, or other equivalent education, alternatively work experience that the employer deems relevant. Experience leading groups and/or mentoring individuals. Experience working within LSS or similar activities. Experience with low-arousal approaches. Experience with documentation and social record-keeping. Knowledge of or experience with sign language as support, picture support, or similar communication support. Experience or knowledge within creative expression such as music, film, dance, movement, or similar. Experience collaborating with family members, authorities, or other professional actors.
