Are you interested in interior design, fashion, and trends? Do you care about the environment and enjoy working in a warehouse setting? Then we have an opportunity for you to combine your interests with work while making the world a bit more sustainable!
We are looking for an appraiser for a temporary position at Artikel2. Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis and the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
Through second-hand operations, development partnerships, and work integration, Artikel2 works toward a world that truly holds together. We are a non-profit organization that is religiously and politically independent, with collective agreements and a 90-account.
About the Role
As an appraiser, you will work with sorting and valuation of collected donations while supervising employees in work training.
You will be part of a team with other supervising appraisers and work trainees, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. The work you do together consists mainly of sorting and appraising collected clothing, textiles, items, books, and furniture.
Alongside the work of sorting and appraising textiles, you will serve as a mentor to individuals in work training who are working toward entering the open job market. You collaborate in daily operations while coaching and supporting as needed. This requires humility and empathy, as well as a genuine interest in helping people. As part of this role, you will occasionally have external contact with case managers from, for example, the Swedish Public Employment Service.
About You
You have a strong interest in and documented knowledge of materials, form, function, fashion relevance, brand, and value. You have broad appraisal expertise as the donations you handle span everything from high to low value.
You have a well-developed sense of order, are accustomed to a high work pace, you have a positive view of people, and you enjoy working closely with others. It is an asset if you have experience mentoring individuals in work placements. You communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as you will be coaching, guiding, and supporting individuals who come to us for work placements at our workplace.
Requirements:
Fluent Swedish, both oral and written
Very good skills in Swedish, orally and in writing
Very good expertise in appraising items, clothing, and furniture
Assets:
Previous experience with clothing/fashion
Previous experience appraising articles and/or antiques
