About the job
You will be part of a working group that handles water-related matters. You will process notifications of water activities according to the Environmental Code. Your work will also include supervision and permitting of water activities. You will handle cases of both simpler and more complex nature. The focus of the position will be adapted to your competence and the needs of the operation.
The work tasks are a mix of case handling and field work, with office work being the primary focus. It is independent work where you are responsible for your cases, while we are a team that helps each other and makes assessments together. In your work, you will have many contacts with private individuals, businesses, and municipalities. This means frequent interaction with the public and operators, and you thrive with dialogue even in situations that require clarity, attentiveness, and respectful communication.
The work is in constant development, and based on our mandate, work tasks may change over time. You therefore need to be able to handle change. This also gives you opportunities to develop and both broaden and deepen your competence with us.
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
academic education with a technical or natural science focus, for example environmental and health protection, or for this position other relevant education and/or experience that we assess as equivalent
Since the work involves extensive daily contact both internally and externally, it is important that you express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing.
As a person, you take responsibility for the organization's goals in your work. You are well-organized and able to work independently and take your own initiatives. Furthermore, you have good interpersonal skills and find it easy to collaborate with both colleagues and external parties while maintaining high integrity.
We consider it a merit if you have:
experience handling cases under the Environmental Code and reviewing matters based on applicable laws, regulations, and practice
experience with supervision work within the scope of the Environmental Code
relevant work experience from employment at a County Administration Board, another public authority, or municipality.

Good to know
The position is a fixed-term employment for six months. Selection and interviews take place in August. Start as soon as possible by agreement.

Since certain work at our organization requires security clearance, you may be required to undergo a security clearance before employment. This includes a security clearance interview and record check. For certain positions, Swedish citizenship is required.
