About the Workplace The Licensing Unit is responsible for issuing permits and conducting supervision according to the Alcohol Act, the Tobacco Act and similar products, the Tobacco-Free Nicotine Products Act, and the Act on Trade in Certain Over-the-Counter Medicines. Our mission also includes conducting training and participating in other preventive measures with the goal of promoting public health. The Licensing Unit also exercises supervision over food and beverage establishments that hold serving licenses and stores that sell tobacco, tobacco-free nicotine products, e-cigarettes, over-the-counter medicines, smoke-free environments, and low-alcohol beer, and serves as a referral body to the Gambling Inspectorate. Job Duties The first position involves you handling, investigating, and administering applications and action matters primarily under the Alcohol Act. The second position (fixed-term employment) involves you handling, investigating, and administering applications and action matters primarily concerning the Tobacco Act and similar products. In addition to each position's primary task, it may also be relevant to handle matters under both pieces of legislation, depending on the unit's needs and case flow. For both positions, you will also conduct certain supervision at food and beverage establishments and ongoing supervision at retail locations. This means you will participate in both planned and needs-driven inspection visits to the city's restaurant environments and retail locations. The work further involves performing qualified case handling with legal and economic assessments as well as related administration. A central part of the work is informing and communicating the law's provisions to customers in a clear and easily understandable manner. The work requires high standards of integrity, accuracy, and professionalism in all interactions and matters. You are expected to work together with the team to drive, plan, and structure the unit's operations. Qualifications Academic education with legal and/or economic components or other education combined with relevant experience that the employer considers equivalent is required. Experience in case handling within the public sector is required for these positions. You must also be able to express yourself very well in Swedish in speech and writing and have good computer skills. Meritorious: Knowledge of and experience with administrative law/legal matters and/or accounting. Experience working with the Alcohol Act and/or the Tobacco Act and similar products. Knowledge and experience with authority exercise and independent investigation work. Personal Qualifications: Self-driven and have a structured working approach. Very good collaboration skills and works unpretentiously with others. Pedagogical and service-oriented. Other: You must have a category B driving license and be able to drive a car to perform the job duties.
