ISP is now looking for a case officer to be placed in the unit for products with dual uses (PDA unit). Job Description As a case officer, you work with various types of issues and permit cases related to the control of products with dual uses (PDA) and international sanctions. The role is broad and involves alternating between routine cases and cases that require deeper analysis work. You work independently to develop both simpler and more in-depth written decision-making materials and present cases at the unit or management level. In addition to handling cases, you are expected to contribute to the development of the unit's working methods and processes. You have contacts with both other authorities and companies, both nationally and internationally, and work closely with colleagues within the agency. The position also includes representing ISP externally at, for example, training sessions or meetings with other authorities or the Government Offices. Business travel may occur. Qualifications Academic master's degree in political science or law degree. At least five years of current experience in qualified case handling at a government agency or work within the Government Offices. Experience in preparing written materials and in orally presenting cases. Very good ability to express yourself both orally and in writing in both Swedish and English. Meritorious Experience of international work, for example within or against the EU, UN or other international organization. Experience from intelligence work. Extensive experience in environmental monitoring and analysis. Experience in permit handling. Experience with export control or international sanctions issues is particularly meritorious. Knowledge of additional languages. Personal Qualities We believe that to thrive in this role, you have extensive work experience in qualified analytical work. You have a good ability to absorb and process large amounts of information and can quickly familiarize yourself with new subject areas and tasks. It is also positive if you have experience in process development of methods for collecting and processing information as well as for quantitative analyses. You are self-driven, thorough, work in a structured manner and can switch between tasks with shorter deadlines and more complex investigations that require longer timeframes. You have good collaboration skills and are communicative while maintaining high integrity. To thrive in the role, you should have a solid interest in foreign, security and defense policy. The Unit The PDA unit is organized into two groups – the Permit Group and the Expert Support Group. The Permit Group is responsible for all ongoing examination of export licenses and advance rulings. The Expert Support Group is responsible for ISP's work with international sanctions, technical investigations and ISP's international cooperation in the export control field (shared with the Permit Group). Which group you will be placed in is determined based on your competence and experience as well as current needs in the unit. However, the unit's resources can be deployed flexibly if the case situation requires it. The colleagues in the PDA unit are a professional group with great passion and enormous knowledge. Here you will quickly become part of the team and a valuable addition to the unit. About Employment at ISP The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is by agreement. Employment includes an obligation to be placed on war alert. Swedish citizenship is required to work with us. The position is classified and a security vetting with record check will be conducted before an employment decision is made.
