Are you a junior lawyer with a strong interest in Swedish foreign and security policy? Do you have experience working at a government agency? Are you also a good writer and do you thrive best in a role with many contact points? Then this role is for you! We are now recruiting a handler with placement in the unit for products with dual-use (DU). Job Description As a handler, you work with various types of cases and permit matters related to the control of products with dual-use (DU) as well as international sanctions. The role is broad and involves alternating between routine-based matters and cases requiring deeper analysis work. You work independently on both simpler and more in-depth written decision-making documents and present matters at the unit or management level. You have contacts with both other authorities and companies, both nationally and internationally, and work closely with colleagues within the agency. Your work also includes representing ISP externally at, for example, training sessions or meetings with other authorities, the Government Offices, or industry. Business travel may occur. Qualifications Law degree Current experience in case management at an authority or work within the Government Offices. Experience in preparing written decision-making documents and presenting cases orally. Very strong ability to express yourself, both orally and in writing, in both Swedish and English. Meritorious Experience in international work, for example within or against the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the EU, the UN, or another international organization. Knowledge of and/or work with international sanctions. Experience with matters concerning export control. Completed notary service. Experience in permit handling. Knowledge of additional languages. Personal Qualities For you to thrive, we believe that you are an analytical person who can take in and process large amounts of information and quickly familiarize yourself with new subject areas and tasks. You are self-directed, thorough, work in a structured manner, and can switch between tasks with short deadlines and more complex investigations requiring longer timeframes. You have good collaboration skills and are communicative while maintaining high integrity. To enjoy this role, you should have a solid interest in foreign, security, and defense policy. The Unit The DU unit is organized into two groups – the Permit Group and the Expert Support Group. The Permit Group is responsible for all ongoing examination of export permits and advance rulings. The Expert Support Group is responsible for ISP's work with international sanctions, technical investigations, and ISP's international cooperation in the export control area (shared with the Permit Group). Which group you are placed in will be determined based on your competence and experience as well as current needs at the unit. However, the unit's resources can be flexibly allocated if the case situation requires it. The colleagues in the DU unit are a professional group with great heart and enormous knowledge. You will quickly become part of the team and a valuable addition to the unit. About Employment at ISP The position is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is by agreement. Employment includes an obligation to be war-placed. To work for us, Swedish citizenship is required. The position is classified for security purposes and a security clearance with record check will be conducted before an employment decision is made. Since a large part of the work tasks involve classified information, the possibility of remote work is very limited. About ISP ISP is a government agency with a security and foreign policy focus.
