Work Duties As a case officer, you are responsible for investigating and processing cases according to the housing adaptation grant law. You conduct needs assessments, make legally secure decisions, and provide support to both applicants and certifiers. The work is largely administrative but also includes home visits when necessary. You have many contact points and collaborate with property owners, certifiers, entrepreneurs, and sometimes other government agencies. The role requires both good communication skills and professional conduct, where you can combine legal precision with understanding for the individual's situation. Qualifications We are looking for you who: Are a licensed occupational therapist or have other university education that the employer considers equivalent. Have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing. Have a category B driver's license. It is meritorious if you have experience in: Housing adaptation and assistive technology matters. Public administration. The housing adaptation grant law. Additional language skills. Who Are You? About the Workplace The Housing Adaptation and Accessibility Unit handles cases concerning housing adaptation. The unit is part of the Architecture and Building Permits Department and consists of 11 employees and a unit manager. Housing adaptation grants are a separate area of responsibility toward the municipal council. The unit also works with accessibility in other areas. The Architecture and Building Permits Department is one of the four departments of the City Building Office and consists of five units; three building permit units, one administrative unit, and the housing adaptation and accessibility unit. We are a department that processes building permits, technical notifications, and inspections according to the Planning and Building Act, as well as applications for housing adaptation according to the housing adaptation grant law. The department's focus is on developing Malmö's urban development from a sustainable and attractive perspective, and maintaining good and close cooperation with both clients and applicants.
