Your Responsibility and Work Tasks The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency shall serve as Sweden's contact point under a mutual agreement for planning population movements across borders encompassing ten countries. During the coming year, Sweden will lead the work within the framework of the mutual agreement. In this role, as a specialist, you will support and contribute to the agency's planning group to advance this area. Within the scope of this work, you are expected to contribute by continuously conducting analyses, assessments, and producing materials for the planning group's work. An important task will also be to support the planning group's leadership and coordination in analytical, coordinating, and administrative tasks. The work tasks encompass broad scope, varying complexity, and place high demands on your ability to collaborate. It is therefore important that you are someone who is motivated by solving problems together with others, wants to develop, and contribute to the group's effectiveness in large and small ways. The work may involve travel within Sweden and internationally as needed. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for you who have: Relevant academic education or other education that we deem equivalent. Experience working in civil defense and total defense. Experience handling security-classified information. It is meritorious if you have: Experience in international cooperation, particularly in a Nordic or Nordic-Baltic context. Read more about our approach About the Position We offer you a fixed-term full-time employment for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. Your work location will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel is part of the position. Majority of our positions involve placement in security classification. Usually Swedish citizenship is required. Upon placement in security classification, security vetting with background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are wartime-placed. About Us The position is located in the Unit of Civil Protection and Nuclear Energy Preparedness, which is part of the Civil Protection Division. The Unit shall contribute to ensuring that necessary measures are taken and that stakeholders coordinate planning within civil protection, regarding evacuation and accommodation, population movements, as well as important public messaging and VMA. The Unit coordinates and contributes to the development of the state rescue service's responsibility regarding the release of radioactive substances and remediation following releases of radioactive substances from a nuclear facility. The Unit also conducts oversight of the regional administration's responsibility for nuclear accidents.
