Do you want to contribute to making health data accessible for research and promote Swedish research in a legally secure and service-oriented manner? About the Position The position is located in the Statistics Department and you will be responsible for preparing cases, drafting decision proposals and presenting cases, as well as producing the data underlying the decision. You will program in SAS and SQL and perform population extractions and data retrievals from the National Board of Health and Welfare's own registers and conduct data linkages from different sources. Since the National Board of Health and Welfare should not disclose more information than necessary, there are extensive conditions regulating data disclosures. You will have independent and varied work where you, together with your closest colleagues, contribute to researchers gaining access to register data in a legally secure and service-oriented manner. The role involves many contacts – you collaborate with colleagues, researchers and authorities, and provide support to clients before, during and after delivery. You work goal-oriented by driving your cases through a clear process where you set objectives and work ambitiously and focused to achieve them. You are expected to contribute to the development of operations. About You We are looking for someone who is analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to handle complex data. You have a good ability to switch between different work tasks and can manage parallel projects without losing focus. You express yourself clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, to collaborate with colleagues and communicate with external parties. You have a strong sense of responsibility for your work but also value teamwork highly – we work as a team where we support and learn from each other. We are looking for someone with a relevant master's degree, for example in statistics, epidemiology, public health, social sciences or qualifications that the National Board of Health and Welfare considers equivalent at least 10 university credits in statistics very good knowledge of programming in statistical tools good ability to express yourself clearly and pedagogically in Swedish, both verbally and in writing interest in working with societal issues or matters concerning healthcare and public health It is a merit if you have experience handling cases at a government authority experience with SQL or programming in statistical tools such as SAS experience processing personal data from registers or other large datasets for research or statistical production understanding of regulations regarding personal data handling and public administration good knowledge of the National Board of Health and Welfare's health and social services data registers Good to Know The recruitment concerns three permanent positions starting with a six-month probationary period. You will be based at the office at Västerbroplan in Stockholm, but have the opportunity to work remotely up to 2 days per week if operations permit. In spring 2027, the agency is moving to new premises in Solna strand. Your job title will be Statistician and your placement is in the Statistics Department, Microdata Unit.
