We are now seeking a nature conservation case handler for the Nature and Wildlife Affairs unit. What does the role involve? As a case handler specializing in invasive species and nature conservation matters, you will work with planning measures to combat invasive species, as well as handling nature conservation cases. The role is varied and involves both independent work and close collaboration with other stakeholders. Your main work tasks include: work with terrestrial invasive alien species and measures related to these, procurement and coordination of initiatives and control measures as well as information dissemination, handling of nature conservation cases according to the Environmental Code, granting of exemptions and permits as well as supervision matters linked to area protection, general habitat protection, and 12:6 consultation. You will collaborate with other subject areas, authorities, landowners, and stakeholders to balance different interests and find long-term sustainable solutions. When needed, you will work with supervision campaigns and supervision guidance according to the Environmental Code. Are you the person we're looking for? For this role you should have: a university degree in a natural science subject, preferably biology, or equivalent as assessed by the employer, at least six months' experience in handling cases according to the Environmental Code at a municipality or authority, good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, a driving license (Category B). You have a good ability to compile information and weigh different interests, often in collaboration with other subject areas. Furthermore, we see that you are used to handling multiple tasks simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize and work efficiently even during periods of high workload. As an employee of the County Administrative Board, you need to have the ability to make decisions from a holistic perspective, taking multiple viewpoints into account, understand that a central role of the County Administrative Board is to make trade-offs between different interests, have the ability to prioritize and adapt to work with new tasks or in new contexts. It is advantageous if you have experience working with invasive species, experience using GIS in your work, experience in information work and knowledge dissemination in your professional role. More about us and the role The position is a permanent employment with start date by agreement. As a rule, we apply a six-month probationary period. As a permanent employee at the County Administrative Board of Stockholm, you will be registered for civil defense allocation according to the needs of total defense. We work in centrally located premises in Stockholm. Possibility for remote work arrangement exists based on operational needs. In the Environmental Department, approximately 120 employees work today. The department consists of six units, where the Nature and Wildlife Affairs unit is one of them with 17 employees.
