As a case handler with us, you will be part of the team in the Industrial Risks Section, which works with large-scale industrial chemical management. With us, you have the opportunity to contribute to preventing serious chemical accidents in process industry and to limit the consequences of such accidents for human health and the environment. Your Responsibilities and Work Tasks You will work with analyzing permit applications from environmentally hazardous activities and presenting the agency's views through statements and at main hearings. You will also develop and provide support to the county administrative boards in their supervision according to Seveso legislation. You will carry out these work tasks in collaboration with your colleagues within the agency as well as with other authorities and stakeholders. Your work tasks include, among other things: handling incoming permit cases, following up, developing, providing support to, and guiding the county administrative boards in their work supervising Seveso activities, developing the Seveso legislation subject area (nationally and internationally), planning and conducting conferences and webinars. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for someone who has: relevant academic education, preferably in natural sciences or technical orientation, or other education combined with work experience that the employer deems equivalent, experience from the public sector with supervisory work concerning the Environmental Code and Seveso. It is meritorious if you have: experience working with supervision guidance, supervision, and permit review concerning Seveso and the Environmental Code, experience working with the Environmental Code and Seveso legislation, preferably regarding environmentally hazardous activities, experience working within process or manufacturing industry, experience working with risk management, risk guidance, or risk analysis. About the Position We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period. Your work location will be Karlstad, and travel is part of the position. The majority of our positions involve placement in security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. When placed in security class, a security clearance with record check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are war-placed. About Us In the Industrial Risks Section, we are ten employees including the manager, and the section is responsible for permit review of environmentally hazardous activities, tasks related to Seveso legislation, and we provide guidance to other supervisory authorities.
