Case Handler - Honor-Related Violence and Oppression
The goal of gender equality work in Sweden is for women and men to have equal power and opportunities to shape society and their own lives. The work includes issues concerning influence, economics, health, education, employment, and bodily integrity.
The Gender Equality Agency shall ensure that the government's gender equality policy is implemented effectively by contributing to efficient implementation of gender equality policy. The agency's task is to coordinate, monitor, and provide support in various ways within gender equality areas. The Gender Equality Agency is an LGBTQI-strategic agency, which means that the agency shall promote equal rights and opportunities for LGBTQI persons in its operations.
As of January 1, 2026, the Gender Equality Agency took over national responsibility for work against honor-related violence and oppression (NCH), previously held by the Regional Government Office of Östergötland. Currently, work is underway to build a new operation within the agency, where we are creating a long-term and sustainable structure and organization for this area.
We are now seeking a case handler specializing in honor-related violence and oppression for a fixed-term position.
Duties
As a case handler, you will contribute to the agency's work against honor-related violence and oppression, in line with the agency's instructions, regulatory letters, and current government assignments. You will gather and structure materials, provide administrative and educational support in training and knowledge dissemination. The work contains both independent tasks and team collaboration. In connection with the Gender Equality Agency taking over national responsibility for work against honor-related violence and oppression, you will be part of a build-up and development phase where structures, working methods, and collaborations are still being formed. Main duties:
Compile and process materials for further analysis work on honor-related violence and oppression, as well as related areas including men's violence against women, intimate partner violence, and violence against children and young people.
Gather and process materials for analyses, reports, and methodological support.
Contribute with administrative and educational support in training, workshops, network meetings, and conferences.
Participate in developing and disseminating support materials for professionals.
Support project management with planning, documentation, follow-up, and logistics.
Monitor research, reports, and statistics in the field of honor-related violence and oppression as well as violence against children and young people.
Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Academic degree in a social sciences field or education that the employer deems relevant for the position.
Some experience with investigation work, preferably in relevant subject areas, such as intimate partner violence, honor-related violence and oppression, or child victimization, for example through studies, internship, or employment.
Good administrative skills.
Good ability to express yourself well orally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
Basic knowledge of honor-related violence and oppression, its target groups, and prevention work.
We consider it advantageous if you have
Experience working in the public sector, preferably in a government agency with assignments related to violence, oppression, or protection of vulnerable groups.
Experience with case management or government authority matters related to violence and victimization, for example in social services, disability services, healthcare, police, or schools.
Experience working with victims of violence in, for example, social services, schools, recreational activities, sports organizations, or civil society.
Knowledge of violence against children and young people, men's violence against women, intimate partner violence, or other related areas.
Good knowledge of Swedish gender equality policy.
Language skills in languages other than Swedish and English.

Employment Information
The position is a fixed-term employment (temporary position) on a full-time basis until August 31, 2027, located at the Gender Equality Agency's office in central Gothenburg. Start date September 1 or as soon as possible/by agreement. Work-related travel may occur.
