Npof is a government agency established in 2020. The Board's mission is to investigate and review issues concerning research misconduct. Through its activities, the Board works to ensure that good research practices are maintained and thereby uphold confidence in Swedish research and Sweden's position as a leading research nation. Do you have experience conducting your own research and an interest in research ethics issues? Are you drawn to a job where you can use your analytical skills in a communicative context? The Board for Review of Research Misconduct (Npof) is seeking a qualified case handler responsible for investigating research misconduct in Swedish research.
Responsibilities
Your main task is to investigate and present research misconduct cases to the Board, which is the agency's decision-making body. The task involves several different components, such as handling and investigating cases, communicating with respondents, complainants, experts and research leaders, preparing decision drafts and presenting them to the Board, and working together with legal counsel to write statements to courts in cases that are appealed.
You will handle cases within your research area, but since we are a small organization, you will occasionally handle cases in other research fields. The person we are seeking will complement the current team of case handlers and be a resource in handling the cases that come to the Board.
You will contribute to developing the Board's operations in both strategic and operational matters. This could include, for example, the review process or our annual report.
You will also participate in seminars and conferences and other communication and information activities, and therefore need to feel confident representing the agency in external contexts.
Qualification Requirements
PhD in biomedical science.
Experience conducting your own research after earning your doctorate.
Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Presentation experience and experience explaining and summarizing complex issues and extensive materials.
The following are merits
Knowledge and practical experience working with good research practice issues.
Experience writing decision proposals.
Experience coordinating and/or managing research or research funding support.
