Job DescriptionAs a health informatics specialist, you work at the intersection of healthcare operations, information management, and digital systems. You contribute to creating conditions for region-wide uniform terminology and structured, appropriate, and quality-assured documentation that supports both patient-centered work, legal requirements, and the organization's needs for follow-up, analysis, development, and information transfer. In the role, you work closely with healthcare operations to understand concepts and needs, map information flows, and identify improvement opportunities. You translate the organization's needs into practical solutions in our healthcare information systems by developing terminologies, creating code systems, developing and configuring keywords, documentation templates, and other structures for uniform and quality-assured registration of healthcare information. The work also includes developing certain training materials, training, guiding, and supporting operations in the use of new solutions and information structures. The position is based in Linköping but remote work opportunities are available.
Work TeamThe Data and Analysis Unit is part of the region's development function and consists of approximately 40 employees with expertise in areas such as analysis, information architecture, organizational development, and health informatics. You will become part of a team of five health informatics specialists who together work on developing information structures and documentation support for the region's operations. The team is responsible for supporting operations on matters related to health informatics, healthcare information management in general, and specifically structures for healthcare documentation. Health informatics expertise is also an important part in the development, implementation, and change of healthcare information systems, where the health informatics specialist contributes knowledge about the organization's needs related to improving information management and documentation processes. We work closely with both healthcare operations and other specialist functions and participate in both smaller improvement efforts and larger development initiatives in healthcare. The work is characterized by collaboration, knowledge exchange, and a shared ambition to create solutions that provide real value for healthcare staff and patients.
About YouWe are looking for someone with higher education in health informatics, or a combination of educational background and experience that the employer considers equivalent. For example, higher education in systems science, information systems, cognitive science, medical technology, or equivalent, or alternatively, higher education in healthcare or healthcare administration combined with knowledge in health informatics. You have experience working at the intersection of operations and digital solutions and are accustomed to analyzing needs, driving development work, and translating complex issues into practical usable solutions. It is also desirable that you have good knowledge of terminology work and language care.
It is meritorious if you have knowledge or experience in:
health informatics or information management in healthcare
concept and information modeling
health informatics standards, such as SnomedCT and OpenEHR
healthcare information systems, preferably Cosmic
quality registers, follow-up, or secondary use of health data
organizational development, change management, or system implementations
