JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Are you the teacher who makes chemistry and biology exciting through varied instruction, smart pedagogy, and an innovative approach?
As a high school teacher of chemistry and biology, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction in accordance with applicable curricula. You work to create stimulating, inclusive, and structured learning environments that promote students' knowledge development, motivation, and independent learning. In this role, you also contribute to active collaboration within work teams and subject areas, where you participate in developing instruction and the school's overall quality.
Job responsibilities include, among others:
• Plan and deliver instruction in chemistry and biology at the high school level, and create a safe, respectful, and positive study environment
• Differentiate instruction to meet students' different needs and circumstances.
• Assess and grade students' knowledge according to the Swedish National Agency for Education guidelines.
• Follow up on students' development and document results.
• Collaborate with colleagues in work teams, subject areas, and student support services.
• Maintain regular contact with parents/guardians as needed.
This position also includes the possibility of being offered a Lead Teacher role. As a Lead Teacher, your assignment also includes:
• Promote and develop more equitable instruction
• Strengthen colleagues' ability to use each other as resources and collaborate in teaching
• Share and disseminate experience and good teaching examples to colleagues

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who works in a structured and goal-oriented manner, and who with clear planning and good organization creates both security and quality in instruction. You like to take initiative in social settings and quickly build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians. As a colleague, you are unpretentious and collaboration-oriented, and when challenges arise, you quickly find practical and sustainable solutions that drive the work forward. With your combination of clarity, engagement, and a positive approach, you create an environment where you, your colleagues, and your students have the best conditions to succeed.
Requirements for the position:
• Teacher certification with authorization to teach chemistry and biology at the high school level
• Good knowledge of the Swedish National Agency for Education's curricula and assessment criteria
• Master Swedish language in speech and writing
Merits:
• Experience teaching chemistry and biology at the high school level
• Experience with or interest in a Lead Teacher role, as well as at least four years of well-documented teaching experience
